A man once stood at the edge of the earth,
looking for someone to enkindle the withering flame inside his cold heart.

Little did he know that hell has already swallowed her whole. Body, and soul.
Had life been any fairer, he’d've had a taste of happiness.

But alas, Fate abhors him.
‘Tis not, a decision nor choice.

Smile,
smile without a conscience.

Ye who knows pain, side upon me.
Let me soothe your soul, with pointless cacophony.
Your hearts be broken, I cannot mend.
Drain your eyes and shed your tears,
Life’s reprieve, gone down to rest – laid down with a lie, buried without a smile.

Your heart, she holds.
And trust she shan’t break.
Your love, so bold.
Lies, lust and hate.

Never trust your heart, never a word.
Never trust her words, never a smile.
Never trust her smiles, never her kiss.
Never trust her kiss, her lust it fills your lips.

I shan’t end here. But you get the gist.
Live with a livid soul,
And love – with a caution.

Minstrel of Misery, part III: Love

As the dying sun’s rays fade out across the horizon, happy endings – now broken, tattered and torn.
A blunt-weapon to keep him company, his face riddled with anger and fear.
Love-lost anger, love-sick fool feared down-under.

Doors, they amaze you, keep you alive for a brief moment in time.
To him, it was a barrier. Gave him time to reflect, turn away, forget.
Gave them time to live and finish their dirty deeds.
A case of cold feet, a fleeting sensation of heated wrath. Death lingers in the air.

And the carnival of emotions have begun. Caught off-guard and dealt the first blow.
Not a blood was shed, awed philanderer knocked down dead, time starts to slow.
Skipped a beat of feared events, violence overturned, lovers hellbent. The room then tinted of blood-red and a little speck of sweat, the Reaper smirks.

The burden of loss he cannot bear. A meaningless life, an eternity sworn devoid.
And now she’s on the other side, fiddling with the Fates.
He then takes his life, what a waste. For a love left impure, lies blind to the very end.

“Love,
the loneliness of one,
the happiness of two,
the death of three.”

Minstrel of Misery, Part II: Life

Was it both Romeo and Juliet, who bestowed unto us untainted love?
The tragic couple from Shakespeare’s dire-poetic mind, to choose love above life, love beyond life.
And here I face the same fate. The exemplar’s face drenched in blood, his lover in a lifeless plight.

A pistol on his nape, never the best way to go out with a bang.
The trigger in his finger, the sensation of angst and compassion still lingers.
Sparks fly, the hammer ignites a bullet and blood spatters on the wall.

Death was patient, the boy begged for three more words his tongue could speak, “I love you”.
And the scythe swung down, reaping both paramour souls. Their love was deep, and so was their grave.
Before the Pale Death left, he bade me unkind words yet pierced through my soul, none I could resist.

“Emotions cannot exist without the fear of death. Ignorance is meaningless, enjoy your meager and wretched existence.”

Minstrel of Misery, Part I: Innocence

The stage is set, the actors are in place and the setting is of nonchalant ease.
All that is left is the tables be turned, the antagonist finishes off the hero in an honorific demise; head impaled on a stake. “Innocence, inexistent.”

He forcefully takes the girl by the hand, kisses her in a cliff under the light of the full-moon.
But alas, happy endings aren’t meant for the unmatched bête noire.
He kicks her off the cliff and wreaths a smirk upon his face.

“‘Till death do you part, adjoined to the very end. Rest be damned, an eternity abhorred. “
